What is Art Therapy?

Art Therapy is a form of expressive arts therapy that invites the client to share their thoughts, feelings, and experiences through art making. The client is encouraged to focus on the materials and the given directive, which is connected to what is occurring in the session and the presenting issues we are working on together. The client does not have to be an artist or have any experience with art. The goal of art therapy is to help unlock those parts that have yet to be unpacked through a mindfulness practice.
